Unipply Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 19, 2026

Unipply is a Chrome extension that helps you fill out and track university admission applications. This page explains what data Unipply handles, where it goes, and what control you have over it.

What Unipply stores

Unipply stores the following on your own device only, using Chrome's built-in extension storage (chrome.storage.local / chrome.storage.session):

None of this data is sent to Unipply's developer or to any server operated by Unipply. There is no Unipply account, login, or backend — the extension has no server of its own.

What gets sent to Google's Gemini API

If you provide your own Gemini API key and use the "Scan," "Fill," or "Draft with AI" features, Unipply sends the relevant profile data and the text/labels of the form fields on the page you're scanning to Google's Gemini API, using your key, for the sole purpose of matching your data to form fields or drafting essay text. This only happens when you actively trigger a scan or draft — never automatically in the background on pages you haven't asked Unipply to look at.

This exchange is subject to Google's Gemini API terms and Google's own privacy practices, which are outside Unipply's control. If you don't add an API key, Unipply falls back to a local, offline matching method and no data leaves your device at all.

Your control over your data

You can export a full backup of your profile and applications (excluding your API key) as a JSON file at any time from Settings, edit or delete any entry directly in the extension, or remove all Unipply data by uninstalling the extension from Chrome.

Children's privacy

Unipply is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
